World Book Night was celebrated with our first ever spoken word event, a really enjoyable and entertaining evening attended by over 50 people.
Our headline writer, prize-winning local author Rosie Garland, thrilled us with brilliant readings of her poetry and of excerpts from her latest novel, The Night Brother. Ten other writers including, Steve Smythe, Lynn Walton, Joy Wassell Timms, John Calvert, Charlotte Gringras, Sally Paradise, Jolivia, Steve Waling, Helen Darby and John Taylor, contributed hugely to the evening’s success – big thanks to them all and to those who volunteered to make cakes and help set and clear up afterwards.
We hope this is the first of many such events. Watch this space…!
