The reading group has been going for over a year now. We have read crime, classics, literary fiction and had very varied discussions. Titles we have read include, Capital by John Lanchester; Small Island by Andrea Levy,; A passage to India by E.M.Forster . We even had a trip out to John Rylands library. Though small our group is enthusiastic. We question endings, plot changes and wonder why… we also have a good laugh and interchange of ideas.
Coming up next, on Jan 31st is Sarah Walters brilliant book about wartime Britain – Night Watch, on BBC last year. Full of detail about wartime conditions in London. Interesting, rounded, well developed characters. Also a clever plot line.
Anyone welcome to join us but you need to have read the book! Check times on the website.
